Lecture Description

Dr. Jane Regan, Associate Professor in Boston College's Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry, provides an informative talk focusing on the theological mandates for discipleship which arise from the sacrament of Baptism. She primarily references Vatican II documents, the Catechism and the General Directory for Catechesis. Her emphasis is upon concepts of vocation, apprenticeship and evangelization for all baptized Christians. This lecture was originally released on September 25, 1999 as part of a STEP videoconference series.

Dr. Jane Regan

Dr. Jane Regan

From 1986-96, Dr. Regan was an associate professor of theology at St. John's University in Minnesota and had served as an adjunct professor at St. Mary's University of Minnesota's Institute of Pastoral Ministry during that time. She also has taught at the College of St. Theresa in Minnesota and Catholic University of America. Having worked in parish religious education in North Carolina and Massachusetts, Dr. Regan's research focuses on adult faith formation at the parish level. She has authored one book and co-authored another, and she has written eight articles.
