The Catholic Reading of Holy Scripture

Lecture Description

As the Vatican II document Dei Verbum (Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation) teaches, the word of God is the origin and source of the Christian life. How the word of God is interpreted, however, presents a challenge for all. In addition to describing a method of interpretation, the Most Rev. Donald Trautman, Bishop of Erie, PA, explores the central truths which Scripture reveals to call the people of God together and transform them through discipleship. This lecture was originally released on January 27, 2001 as part of a STEP videoconference series.
